World Journal Case Study

Challenge

Find a reliable and affordable ISP for their New York headquarters. As a vast, year-round publisher of the world’s major news, as well as news relevant to the United States, Canada, mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macao Southeastern Asia, and the local Chinese communities, it was and is very important to keep each office connected 24 hours, 7 days per week. World Journal had tried using technologies such as Frame Relay, ISDN, and Dedicated T1, but all were expensive and unreliable. They had then considered other local ISP’s, but there were issues with the local loop, and the T1 circuit that they were relying upon was very unstable.

Solution

By completely bypassing the local phone company, World Journal received more dedicated bandwidth at a reasonable price. Having received a phone call from a Towerstream representative, World Journal’s Director of IT, Mr. James Lee and his team considered Towerstream’s proposal due to our fast installation and higher dedicated bandwidth. After signing the contract, World Journal was up and running in a couple of days rather than the traditional weeks of time waiting for the local phone company, and they now have the stable circuit that they were looking for.  Mr. Lee went on to say that they have not had any issues in recent years, even throughout Hurricane Sandy, but if needed, Towerstream’s tech support is excellent. You will always be talking to a real person, and supported by a real technician, who can assist in troubleshooting right over the phone, compared to other providers that will allow you to chat with a person that cannot help you at all. All in all, Mr. Lee and World Journal are very satisfied with Towerstream, for their reliable service, friendly customer support and very good rates.
